A comprehensive although not exhaustive textbook of neurology that groups its topics into chapters by cause (for example, infections, toxins), or anatomical expression (for example, vascular disease, tumors), or manifestation (paroxysmal disorders). This organization precludes use of this book for self-education or review in diagnostic analysis of neurologic symptoms and signs. The physician who has a firm and wide grasp on neurologic diagnostic principles can use it as a refresher reference on points of diffential diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and other details he or she is unlikely to recall if not frequently seeing patients with a variety of neurologic problems.
