The comprehensive review of the enormous body of knowledge on pre-excitation syndromes done in this book is timely. The contents mainly deal with the factual and theoretic aspect of pre-excitation where accessory pathway of the so-called Kent bundle type is the most likely anatomic substrate. Discussion of the other types of accessory pathways is sketchy and tends to be incomplete.
The anatomic and electrocardiographic aspects of pre-excitation are emphasized whereas little space is devoted to the electrophysiology of these syndromes, despite the fact that intracardiac electrophysiologic studies have provided most of the hard data on the subject in recent years.
