The social and economic impact of coronary heart disease is being widely discussed throughout this country and abroad; therefore, a text on this particular malady and modifications of its effects is appropriate. Sixty-two authors have contributed to the text, and the level of information is accurate and current.
The work is divided into eight sections, each containing three or more chapters. Each chapter is organized into methods and results with a summary and bibliography at the end, a format that I found very handy. The section on epidemiology of heart disease is especially good, with contributions by Drs. Kannel, Kuller,
