The geographic distribution of cancer mortality within Taiwan is presented in this atlas. Color maps, separate for males and females, provide a visual display of townships with high, intermediate, and low age-adjusted mortality rates for 20 different cancer sites. To ascertain the mortality ranking of each township, the average annual mortality based on 9 years (1968-1976) of cancer deaths from each township was compared to the cancer mortality for the total country over the same period.
