Although there have been many reviews, chapters, and books written on amoebiasis, this is the first English-language monograph devoted solely to the amoebic liver abscess. The author, a cardiologist and head of a nuclear medicine department in India, has based this work on hundreds of patients he has seen personally in Bombay over the past 20 years.
The book is divided into 17 sections, the bulk of which are concerned with the clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic aspects of amoebic liver abscess. Most sections are beautifully illustrated with colour photographs of patients, lesions, and pus and numerous roentgenograms and nuclear scans
