In its third edition "Maxwell and Kleeman" approaches "Harrison" in bulk and exceeds it in price, but it clearly belongs in all hospital libraries; those persons whose living revolves around the body fluids will be handicapped if they lack a copy. If the editors cannot be accused of modesty in stating that their opus has been accepted as "the standard and most authoritative textbook in the field," neither can they be accused of inaccuracy. Since the appearance of the second edition of this work, few single sources have been as valuable for reference in problems relating to the extracellular fluids
