The prose is often prosaic, but the message is lofty. To appreciate the fruits of this harvest, one has to reach beyond the words of the collection to the author's feel for history, tradition, spirituality, and the life of the mind. One then comes away with a sense of Savitz the man, the Jew, the physician, the scholarÃÂ¢ÃÂÃÂand with a sense of his view of the healer. There is much in this view for all of us.
