Dr. Wilcox has written what may be a masterpiece of description and brevity for the management of this expanding group of diseases. Part one, on diseases commonly presenting with genital discharges, covers gonorrhea, candidiasis, trichomoniasis, and nonspecific genital infection; and part two, on conditions commonly presenting as sores or tumors, covers syphilis, chancroid, lymphogranuloma venereum, granuloma inguinale, parasitic diseases, and disease caused by viruses. The final chapter, entitled "Summary of Management: The Best Option in General Practice" may actually be the best part of the book.
