To the editor: We must disagree with the statement in the review of radiation-related thyroid dysfunction by Schimpff and colleagues (1) in a recent issue that there are no reports of patients who have developed thyroid carcinoma after radiation for Hodgkin's disease. Weshler and colleagues (2) recently reported the case of a 22-year old patient who developed adenocarcinoma of thyroid 16 years after receiving 2000 rad to the head and neck region for treatment of Hodgkin's disease. Fuks and associates (3) described a similar case. A review of 631 cases treated for Hodgkin's disease at UCLA from 1955 to 1979
