The contributors to this book represent an array of
authority and expertise that virtually ensures an adequate result. This work was planned as a practical, clinically relevant source of information, but there are several deficiencies. Specifically, there are no chapters on dermatology, infection, and the hypoglycemic states. Although redundancy and repetition are unavoidable in a multiauthored work, here these faults are at times excessive. For example, the chapter on inheritance and the one on etiology are so similar in content that they could readily be condensed into one.
