The second edition of Grossman's text retains the excellent features of the first edition with some additions that enhance its value. The book is directed at physicians training to become cardiologists and meets its objective admirably. Those supervising trainees in cardiac catheterization will appreciate the documentation of current techniques, including safety measures. Residents and medical students will find instructive the pathophysiologically oriented section entitled "Profiles of Hemodynamic and Angiographic Abnormalities in Specific Disorders," which constitutes nearly 25% of the text.
