Sophisticated neuroradiologic investigative procedures and the development of microsurgery have led to a radical change in the management of pituitary disorders over the last decade. In addition, advances in prolactin pathophysiology and the development of drugs inhibitory to pituitary hormone secretion have produced treatment options that are bewildering for many clinicians.
