Dr. Stamey has been one of the principal contributors to our understanding of urinary tract infections, and his views are of particular interest because of his extensive experience in caring for patients. From this background, he painstakingly presents a variety of illustrative cases, often in great detail with accompanying charts, roentgenograms, and photomicrographs, in support of his missionary claim that "it is now possible, in 1980, to take any patient with recurrent bacteriuria and successfully solve their problem."
