This epitome of grey scale B-scan teaching aides apparently began as an ultrasound teaching file for postgraduate education. It is now primarily an atlas demonstrating anatomy, technique, and pathology. Although there are several contributors the text is well organized. The initial chapter discusses basic physical principles, and the remaining 11 chapters deal with specific organ systems. Each chapter is divided into two major sections: explanatory text and case material. The explanatory text covers technique of ultrasonography, normal anatomy, and pathological states.
