Rarely is one able to review a book that can be so readily recommended for all with an interest either in a better understanding or in developing technical competence in gastrointestinal endoscopy. This small book is from only two authors, both with extensive experience in the practice and teaching of endoscopic methods. Clarity of expression and style are consistent throughout. Fiberoptic endoscopy and related procedures are discussed and the techniques of rigid endoscopy are purposely omitted. Findings are interpreted only as needed for the performance of a technically complete procedure.
