Although there are many books dealing with the various aspects of cardiac arrhythmia, there is always a need for one that presents the essential information concisely. This second edition, which has the same general format and style as the first, does achieve that purpose for medical students, house staff, and internists. For cardiology fellows and clinical cardiologists the text has less to offer, but may be a useful reference.
The sections on anatomy, basic electrophysiology, and preexcitation syndrome are excellent and up-to-date. The discussion of coronary heart disease and sudden death is important and a welcome addition. In many of
