To the editor: In their review Byer and Easton (1) tabulate the results of randomized studies on anticoagulant treatment for progressing stroke. One would erroneously conclude from their review that there have been three such studies, with a total of 150 patients in the treated groups. However, the second study (2) cited in Table 2 of their article, with 51 patients in the treated group, is merely the interim report of the third study (3) cited in Table 2 of their article.
