Clinical chemistry is now an established science, but the number of books available that can be used in teaching is very limited. This new book is a welcome addition and comes at an appropriate time for those students who are trying to learn the basis of the subject and for their teachers who are constructing the courses.
The background to the construction of this book is interesting. The senior editor is Dr. Alan Gornall, a long-time chairman of the Department of Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Toronto. His department was responsible for establishing a postdoctoral training program to prepare
