The title is misleading: This book really deals with cardiovascular problems encountered in patients with chronic renal failure. This is a slim book by nephrology standards. The 11 chapters encompass cardiac pathology and altered drug distribution and metabolism in renal failure as well as hypertension, dialysis, arrhythmias, pericardial disease, treatment of endovascular infections, and cardiac surgery in patients with chronic renal failure. All the editors and many of the contributors are from Hahnemann Medical College and Hospital.
The book is well done. Specific information on the intersection of cardiology and nephrology is difficult to find even in the current comprehensive
