This comprehensive review of St. Louis encephalitis is by 23 authors and is divided into five sections, with 16 chapters. There is an excellent forward by William C. Reeves, one of the fathers of arbovirus work in this country. All of the chapters have comprehensive bibliographies complete through 1978.
The first section, an outstanding historical review by Roy Chamberlain, could stand as an introduction to the growth of knowledge of this important North American arbovirus encephalitis and includes photographs of many of the outstanding workers in this field.
