Most recent textbooks of rheumatology, except for one or two notable exceptions from England, have been detailed and voluminous productions. In the United States, The Primer on the Rheumatic Diseases produced by The Arthritis Foundation has been a valuable short text for the medical student, but a new edition is needed. None of these books have specifically addressed rheumatic diseases in the geriatric population.
Directed at medical students and practicing physicians, the book by Giansiracusa and Kantrowitz is for the most part a good, concise review of rheumatic diseases (including the difficult and commoner soft-tissue afflictions) and bone diseases in
