It is an unpleasant duty to have to conclude that Dr. Medley's medical medley does not successfully achieve his ambitious goal of providing "quick reference for the common problems." of everyday practice for all sorts of medical personnel -medical students, practicing physicians, and those ubiquitous contemporary companions, "other health care professionals." Perhaps it is because of the latter group that certain chapters have been parenthetically titled, such as nephrolithiasis (kidney stones); upper respiratory infections (the common cold); and, although they are not synonymous, cholecystitis (gall stones).
