Is it to be hypoglycemia or neuroglycopenia? In the United States, no semantic problem exists; hypoglycemia means low blood sugar and implies a lack of neuronal glucose. I am glad Marks and Rose titled their book Hypoglycaemia; Neuroglycopenia would not have played in Peoria.
The book has many attractive features. The style is consistent and readable. It is a pleasure to find a book written for the most part by a single author. Unnecessary repetition is avoided. An excellent, up-to-date bibliography follows each chapter. The price, although steep, is not exorbitant.
