BERTRAND M. BELL, M.D.
To the editor: In the acknowledgments to a brief report by Knapp and associates (1) I am listed among others and thanked for "many thoughtful suggestions." I would like it known that "thoughtful suggestions" were that it was both medically and morally wrong to rechallenge this patient who had had a severe attack of acute bronchospasm when he was initially treated and, for a variety of reasons, it would be impossible to obtain informed consent from this patient.
