To the editor: The cardiovascular effects of Cimetidine have never been documented through organized studies addressing this problem; the number of case reports describing them may merely reflect the widespread use and abuse of the drug (1). Contrary to the claim of Freston in his recent review (2) there are, however, some reports of adverse cardiac reactions after oral use of Cimetidine in patients without heart disease (3, 4). Like others, these reports do not unequivocally incriminate Cimetidine for the findings observed.
