In spite of the recent advances in echocardiography, the electrocardiogram is a more readily available and basic part of the cardiac evaluation. It is good to see a new book on electrocardiography take its place next to the many recent books on echocardiography. This comprehensive work includes basic scientific electrocardiographic principles, examples and criteria for diagnoses, and information on the performance and interpretation of intracardiac electrophysiologic studies.
Dr. Liebman's contributions are the most useful for the routine clinical reading of electrocardiograms, with chapters on the anatomy of the cardiac conducting system, tables and standards for the abnormal and normal electrocardiogram,
