The definition of a book as a collection of sheets of paper bound together is a perfect description of so many medical textbooks; but not this one. The authors, mostly from the University of Arizona at Tucson, have written an up-to-date book. The first part is a survey of the drugs used to treat cardiovascular disease, and the second part covers cardiovascular disorders and their treatment. One of the outstanding features is a summary of the contents at the beginning of each chapter, which enables the reader to scan this long book quickly.
