This report "provides health researchers with a comprehensive reference guide to literature on the quality of cause-of-death statistics (in the form of) an annotated listing of published and unpublished papers on the quality of medical certifications reported on death certificates. Based on a search of the relevant literature and a survey of producers and users of mortality statistics, the report contains 128 references to a wide assortment of studies conducted in the United States and abroad for the past 24 years.
