"In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous." This quote from Aristotle is aptly placed by William Paul in the opening of this book. Indeed, the wonders of immunology are unending and everchanging, particularly now when the field is in a permanent state of change. Paul has succeeded in recording the major currents of modern immunologic thinking in the United States. A group of active researchers has contributed updated and comprehensive reviews of their areas, for a text that contains essential reading material for all basic immunologists.
