Dr. Harris and colleagues have compiled a number of studies evaluating conservative (less than modified radical mastectomy) therapeutic approaches to the treatment of stage I and II breast cancer. Data presented from these trials, nearly all of which are familiar to clinical oncologists caring for patients with breast cancer, are updated as of the spring of 1982. Thus, these reports are significant extensions of previously published material. The book is divided into eight sections, and after each the editors discuss the individual reports from their own viewpoint, but do not attempt to cover the topic completely or place these reports
