This text was published as a "how-to" book to assist the primary care physician in dealing with hypertension. The authors also note their hope that the book will be useful to medical students and paramedical personnel as well. In fact, it appears that the text will be of greatest use to the latter groups instead of the qualified internist.
On the whole, the effort appears to have been a good one. The authors attempt at stay clear of theory but occasionally falter. An example is in Chapter Two, on pathogenesis. Thankfully, such efforts are brief and do not seriously impair their
