Insomnia is the commonest sleep complaint, constituting as many as 18% of complaints heard by internists. Although our understanding of sleep and its disorders has expanded dramatically during the last 30 years, research findings have not always been translated into a useful approach for the practicing physician. This book, written by two pioneers in sleep research, fills an extremely important need by providing clinicians with a clinically oriented, well-written, practical guide that will enable them to treat insomniac patients effectively.
