Patients with cancer and their physicians hope and expect that continued progress in the field will make a new comprehensive text on cancer therapy somewhat out of date by the time of its publication. Nevertheless, all should welcome the second edition of Dr. Haskell's Cancer Treatment. With over 70 contributors, most from UCLA, this book provides a succinct, complete discussion of all aspects of patient management, with particular emphasis on therapy. A multimodality approach appears throughout the book, although the medical oncologist's role is emphasized.
The format is relatively standard, with three sections, the major one dealing with specific malignancies.
