There are now over 70 000 patients receiving maintenance hemodialysis. Instead of being a medical curiosity, the dialysis patient is now likely to be encountered by almost all internists. As the number of patients has grown so has our demand for new books to keep pace with the current knowledge.
This book, with a chapter covering each of the subspecialties of medicine in addition to chapters on the eye, skin, anesthesia, and drugs in renal failure, is excellent. The bibliographies are the most outstanding feature of this book. There are 22 chapters; only 1 has fewer than 50 references, 15
