Pericardial disease has been referred to as an orphan subject, with few medical investigators focusing their efforts to its study and few publications dealing with it in extensive detail. This situation will be corrected with the publication of Dr. Noble Fowler's clinical monograph on the subject. Dr. Fowler has long been one of the foremost students of pericardial disease, and he now brings his studies and experiences together in a book that is well balanced, readable, and sufficiently comprehensive for almost any reader.
The heart of the book is in the three chapters that cover various aspects of cardiac tamponade.
