There have been many recent advances in bronchodilatory therapy, and this book provides an up-to-date overview for the general practitioner and internist. Although the book reflects British treatment of asthma, the principles recommended by the authors are generally the same as those used in this country, and the approaches outlined should be familiar to most American physicians. The major theme is bronchodilator drug treatment of asthma in an office setting.
The book begins with two excellent chapters on the pathophysiology of asthma and the pharmacology of the major classes of bronchodilator drugs. The next chapters outline a complete, practical approach
