Hypertension Management and Hypertensive Emergencies by E. P. Hoffer and G. O. Barnett are individual computer programs designed to teach the management of hypertension in its mild to severest forms by using simulated hypertensive case studies via the interactive format on personal computers. The Management program contains 18 cases and the Emergencies program, 8 cases.
This approach to teaching principles of hypertension therapy has several positive aspects. The cases presented are realistic and represent both common and uncommon problems. The interactive format allows decision makingto proceed in a conventional way, but also allows interruption at any time to backtrack through
