After years of relative pedagogic inactivity, many textbooks and monographs on protein calorie malnutrition and nutritional support techniques are now being published. This new multiauthored textbook should rank among the leading textbooks on parenteral nutrition, although the major emphasis is directed toward physicians who treat pediatric patients.
The major subdivisions of the book include macro- and micro-nutrient utilization in total parenteral nutrition; techniques, monitoring, and complications of parenteral nutrition; and total parenteral nutrition in relation to organ systems and disease.
