Magnetic resonance MR imaging is a new radiologic imaging technology that uses magnetic fields and radio-frequency energy to produce cross-sectional images of a body part of interest .
1. Magnetic resonance images can be acquired with equal clarity in any orientation: sagittal, coronal, or oblique as well as transaxial .
2. The range of image contrast for this technique is broader and more continuous than the range for radiographic techniques. Tissue borders are seen more sharply, giving better anatomic definition .
3. With MR imaging, patients are not exposed to ionizing radiation. This
