Most of this text is concerned with physiologic and clinical concerns of obstetricians and pediatricians, but it does have chapters likely to be useful to some internists and family practitioners; these include chapters on ethical dilemmas, perinatal loss and bereavement, adolescent pregnancy, specific medical problems (cardiac disease, disseminated intravascular coagulation, hypertension, renal disorders, endocrine disorders), and drugs in pregnancy.
