This interesting book includes considerable information on sleep disorders in general and, more particularly, how our circadian system works in regulating our sleep-wake cycle. There is a good deal of new and old information, which may interest both physician and layperson.
The major problem with this small book is that parts are too detailed and complicated for most laypersons, and others are considerably oversimplified for the physician reader. The description of shift work, jet lag problems, and sleep disorders would be confusing and complex for non-physicians, as would the material on laboratory and field work studies.
