To the editor: The recent article by Geokas and Branson (1) on recruiting students for medicine was very interesting, especially considering how much has been written recently on similar themes. The section titled "The Problem" was thorough and insightful. However, the solutions offered were, I believe, inadequate. Of the nine proposed solutions, eight were essentially public relations measures dealing with informing highschool and college students about the positive aspects of a medical career.
