The two volumes are divided into seven major parts and the diseases are grouped logically. After a concise review of normal cellular structure and function, the authors discuss the clinical indications for biopsy. The immunopathogenetic mechanisms of glomerular injury are presented with experimental animal models and illustrations. The role of secondary cellular mediators is also discussed.
