To the Editors: I would like to point out several inaccuracies in Dr. Irwin J. Schatz's review (1) of a book by Jay D. Coffman entitled Raynaud's Phenomenon. In his review, Dr. Schatz refers to a passage in the Old Testament that he thinks might represent the first recorded description of Raynaud phenomenon. The passage quoted is not from Exodus XII, but from Exodus IV (verse 6): "And the Lord commanded him [Moses] to place his hand into his bosom and when he withdrew it, lo it was white as snow." In this particular instance, the "hand" that turned "white"
