Readers of French medical journals have been aware that many of the papers published in these journals are weak in formal scientific exposition in comparison with the papers published in major anglophone journals. The publication of this new text is a sign that French medical academicians are aware of the problem. The text starts with descriptions of types of medical papers and proceeds systematically through the expected topics, including style, title, the selection of authors, introduction, materials and methods, and results. With this structure, it is the French kin of my How to Write and Publish Papers in the Medical
