The goal of this two-volume publication is to focus attention on the fact that gastric physiology has made Herculean strides since the 1960s, when hydrochloric acid assay was the single cardinal gastric function, to the present, when a plethora of secretory, motility, and morphologic tests are available to evaluate gastric pathophysiology. The book is directed at gastroenterologists, digestive surgeons, gut physiologists, pharmacologists, and students who are eager to avail themselves of a single publication that strives to bridge the gap between research and clinical application.
