To the Editors: In a recent position paper, the American College of Physicians supported the Institute of Medicine's recommendation for the development of a new type of "single access" information source for occupational and environmental health information, modeled after poison control centers (1, 2). This need has arisen as physicians are confronted with uncertainty in diagnosing acute and chronic occupational and environmentally induced disease. We report one example of such a resource.
