Eleven chapters in a pocket format, a taller kin to that of the Michelin "green guides." Each chapter surveys one of the main pharmacologic classes of cardiovascular drugs (such as diuretics, calcium-channel blockers, angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors), with attention to relevant pharmacologic characteristics, kinetics, dosage, side effects, and appropriate patterns of clinical use. The generous bibliographies closing each chapter are divided into references from the previous edition and new references.
