To the Editors: Stillman and colleagues (1) are to be congratulated for a marvelous effort. However, I cannot see how the noted differences between foreign medical graduates (FMGs) and United States medical graduates (USMGs) were a reflection of "validity" in the face of all the limitations in the study (which the authors themselves point out). With respect to FMGs, the authors do not explain how sampling was done or how many interns or residents overall had previous experience with standardized patients.
