This edition, written by an eminent authority in the field, updates a well-recognized textbook of cerebrovascular disease. The book has 27 chapters and begins with reviews of essential vascular anatomy, physiology, and essential patient examination, including neurodiagnostic techniques. Other chapters review the major stroke syndromes, including carotid and vertebral-basilar territory strokes, and branch artery syndromes; cardiac, embolic, atherosclerotic, and hemorrhagic infarctions and their syndromes; and the diverse angiopathies. Also included are chapters on cerebral and spinal cord aneurysms and malformations and medical and rehabilitation therapies. Each chapter adds to the general framework of understanding of cerebrovascular disease.
